FAQ’s

See here for answers to many frequently asked questions!

Are you currently taking surrenders?

Due to current high numbers at the sanctuary, we can only accept surrenders of guinea pigs that were previously adopted from us. We may also consider emergency medical cases. If you wish to surrender, it’s best to email us at brissouthguineapigsanctuary@gmail.com or text us on 0411 964 693.

Can I adopt a guinea pig?

If you wish to adopt, please click on our adopt tab, read the info and then get in touch/apply. We have many pigs needing homes! Our adoption fee is $40 per guinea pig.

When are you open?

We generally have ‘Open Days’ once a fortnight (typically on Saturdays or Sundays). But, if you can’t make these we also offer mid-week grooming appointments and hay pick ups.

You can keep up to date with current opening hours on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/brisbanesouthsideguineapigsanctuary

Do you sell anything?

Our stock tends to vary, but we always have the essentials such as hay and pig mix available! Simply message us to order or pick some up at our next open day.

My guinea pig is sick, what should I do?

We are always happy to give care advice and help if we can! In saying this, we will also refer you onto a vet if we feel veterinary care is needed.

We use the Unusual Pet Vets at Jindalee, we highly recommend them!
